LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS CAN YOU HELP?

Hello

We hope this email finds you, the staff and children well and settled after the last 2 years of disruption!

We are writing to you today to ask a favour. We are at an all-time low in terms of volunteer numbers here at Warning Zone.  We need approximately 100 volunteer slots filling each week, this is based on running the facility 5 days a week and an average of 60 children per day (although now restrictions are lifting these numbers will more than likely increase.)  We are hoping that during the months of March & April, ending with an open event, we will attract and secure more volunteers in order to run the facility at full capacity and provide this valuable resource to as many school groups as possible.

Our volunteer slots are in 2 parts, morning and afternoon.  Some of our volunteers stay the whole day, while others just opt for 1 session that day.  We ask our volunteers to commit to at least two sessions per month (approx. 5 hours).  We have volunteers from age 17-80 +, from all walks of life.  We have recently asked our current volunteers what makes us such a great place to volunteer at, amongst other things was the flexibility, that it fits in with school drop off and pickups.

We are holding a campaign of volunteer recruitment, and we were wondering if you could help us with this campaign by featuring us on your school newsletter be it monthly or weekly.

We have some words below that you can copy and paste or feel free to use this info to create your own message.

Warning Zone is an education charity, delivering safety lessons in their state-of-the-art life skills centre, based in Frog Island in Leicester.  During each year 6’s school year, we try and make a day trip to Warning Zone.  Warning Zone is split into 2 different safety areas and the class children are split into small groups and experience the day with a volunteer guide.  Warning Zone couldn’t exist without their volunteers. Sadly, Warning Zone’s volunteer numbers are at an all time low.  They are currently in the process of recruiting new volunteers.  They ask for a minimum of 5 hours a month from their volunteers, and uniform and full training is given!  Do you have at least 5 hours to spare?  It’s a great way to meet new people and enhance your C.V, or maybe you know someone who is newly retired or finds themselves with spare time on their hands. It fits in perfectly for school drop off and pick up times!  It’s also a great way to keep up with current safety advice, especially in the ever-changing online world.  If you would like more information please email volunteer@warningzone.org.uk or see their social media channels.
