Online Safety
At Scraptoft Valley Primary School, we teach Online Safety across the school from Nursery to Year 6. Children take part in specific Connected World lessons as part of the curriculum. Our teaching of Online Safety is based on the 'Education for a Connected World' framework and the 'Project Evolve' toolkit - recommended by the Department for Education.

At the start of each academic year, all children sign the Acceptable User Policy. The Acceptable User Policy supports them to understand how to be safe and responsible when they are online.
In school we teach the children to:
ZIP IT
Keep your personal stuff private and think about what you say and do online.
BLOCK IT
Block people who send nasty messages and don’t open unknown links and attachments.
FLAG IT
Flag up with someone you trust if anything upsets you or if someone asks to meet you online.
